Clearly vs Claude Code
Claude Code is a coding agent in your terminal. Clearly is a spatial canvas that same agent can see and build on. They are not alternatives — you run both.
Clearly output — live, editable SVG.
Clearly vs Claude Code: what's the difference?
Claude Code writes and edits code from the command line. It is excellent at that, and Clearly does not try to replace it. What Claude Code has no answer for is visual work: a diagram, a layout, a design review, anything where the output is spatial rather than a file. Clearly is a real canvas with a headless API — Claude Code drives it with `canvas-act` and SEES it with `canvas-perceive`, which returns the whole board as structured data including the on-screen chrome. The agent gets its own camera, independent of wherever you happen to be looking. So the terminal keeps the code and the canvas takes the visual work, and a human steers the result by moving things on a board instead of describing changes in prose.

The honest test is watching it build: explore the agent canvas and watch the agent perceive, plan and draw for yourself.
Choose Clearly when…
- ✓Your agent needs to produce something visual, not just files
- ✓You want to review and redirect agent work spatially
- ✓You want the agent to SEE the board, not guess at it
- ✓You are already running Claude Code and want it to reach further
Choose Claude Code when…
- •The task is purely code — write it, test it, ship it
- •You never need a visual artifact at the end
